Create your account
Go to https://app.rentfax.io/signup and sign up with your email and a password. You can also sign in with Google.Once you’ve confirmed your email, you’ll be taken directly to the company setup wizard.

Complete the company setup wizard
The setup wizard runs once, immediately after your first login. It takes about two minutes to complete.Step 1 — Company infoEnter your company name, business type (sole proprietorship, LLC, corporation, or partnership), business phone, and address. Your company name is how your business appears on reports you file across the RentFAX network, so use your official operating name.Step 2 — What you rent outSelect the type of assets you rent: vehicles, equipment, residential property, commercial property, or other. You’ll also pick your fleet or portfolio size. RentFAX uses this to tailor your dashboard layout and report templates to your industry.Step 3 — Try your first searchThe wizard lets you run a live renter search before your account is fully configured. Enter any renter’s name, email, or phone number to see a sample result from the network. You can skip this step and come back later if you prefer.Once you complete the wizard, you’re taken to your main dashboard.
You can update your company information later in Settings.

Invite your team
If other people at your company will use RentFAX — leasing agents, fleet coordinators, compliance staff — add them before you start screening.
- Go to Settings → Team
- Click Invite member
- Enter their email address and assign a role: Admin or Member
- Click Send invite

Run your first renter search
From your dashboard, click Renters in the sidebar, then click Search renter.Enter any combination of:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Driver’s license or ID document number
You can also add renters manually or import them in bulk via CSV from the Renters dashboard.

Read the risk score
Every renter search returns a RentFAX Score between 100 and 1000. Higher is better — a score of 800 or above indicates a low-risk renter, while a score below 400 warrants careful review.Below the score, you’ll see:
- Identity status — whether the renter’s identity was verified or flagged
- Fraud signals — any duplicate IDs, address anomalies, or pattern matches
- Incident history — a timeline of incidents reported by any operator in the network
- AI risk explanation — a plain-language summary of the key signals driving the score

Export a report
Once you’ve reviewed a renter’s profile, you can export it for your records.
- Open the renter’s profile
- Click Export
- Choose CSV or PDF
