Your RentFAX profile is a complete record of your rental history as it appears to operators on the platform. As a renter, you can view every incident on file, see your current RentFAX Score, check who has searched your profile, and file disputes against anything you believe is inaccurate — all from a secure portal that requires no password.

How renters access the portal

The Renter Portal uses a magic link for access. RentFAX never asks renters to create or remember a password. Instead, a time-limited link is emailed directly to you. Clicking it opens your dashboard instantly.
1

Receive the magic link email

When an operator runs a screening check on your profile — or when you sign up directly — RentFAX sends a magic link to your email address. The link is unique to your session and expires after use.
2

Click the link to open your dashboard

Clicking the link in your email takes you directly to your Renter Portal at app.rentfax.io. No password, no account setup.
3

Review your profile

Once inside, you can see your full RentFAX profile: your score, identity verification status, any incidents on file, open disputes, and the list of operators who have searched your name.

What your profile shows

Your Renter Portal dashboard surfaces four key pieces of information about your rental standing.

Identity status

Shows whether your identity is Verified or Unverified. Verified renters have confirmed their identity through the RentFAX verification process. Operators can see this status when they screen you.

RentFAX Score

A composite score from 100 to 1000 reflecting your rental history across the network. Higher is better. The score is calculated from payment compliance, asset condition, contract compliance, and conduct.

Open disputes

The count of disputes you have currently filed that are still under review. A dispute of 0 means no active challenges are pending.

Active incidents

The number of incidents logged against your profile by verified operators. You can view the full details of each incident and dispute any entry you believe is inaccurate.

Who searched you

The Who Searched Me section lists every operator who ran a RentFAX check on your profile, including the operator’s name and the date of the search. This gives you full visibility into who has accessed your rental history. RentFAX does not allow operators to screen a renter without the renter’s knowledge. Before any check is run, consent must be established. You will receive notification — typically via your magic link email — any time an operator initiates a screening.
No anonymous reporting. Every incident and report in RentFAX is tied to a verified operator account. Operators cannot file reports without a verified identity on the platform. This prevents malicious or fabricated claims from entering your record.

For operators: triggering renter portal access

When you run a screening check on a renter, RentFAX automatically sends that renter a magic link to their Renter Portal. No manual step is required on your end. If a renter has not yet received their link, or needs a new one, you can resend portal access from the renter’s profile in your Renters Dashboard. The renter will receive a fresh magic link at the email address on file.
Renter portal access is always tied to the email address associated with the renter’s profile. Make sure the email address on the renter record is correct before initiating a check.
